Help Wanted

Project Vega is quite an ambitious project, and ambitious projects require a lot of talented people to pull them off. Does this project interest you? Do you desire a career in creating video games? Do you bring something to the table that we need? Is your name John Carmack? If the answer to all of these questions is “yes” (well, maybe except for the last one), then you’ve come to the right place! Here are the roles we’re currently looking to fill:

  • Level designer – Someone capable of creating 3D levels.
  • Texture artist – Someone capable of creating texture sets for 3D levels.
  • Graphic artist – Someone capable of drawing things like logos, fonts, and menu graphics.

Are you capable of fulfilling one of these roles? Does working on Project Vega interest you? If so, then great! E-mail me at bmc431@gmail.com, and include the following:

  • Samples (if applicable). Please demonstrate your skills/experience for the position you’re applying for.
  • Proof of dedication. Why should I bring you on board for Project Vega? In 1-3 paragraphs, tell me about your experience on other projects, tell me why you would be dedicated to working on Project Vega, and anything else you feel I should know.

The inclusion of these in your e-mail is a must if you want to be considered!

It’s a great project to work on (just ask the people working on it!), and can help open doors to your career in video game development. Plus, once we find a publisher, there’s a strong chance that you could find yourself with a job.

Thanks, and we look forward to working with you :D

    Hmm…
I might be able to help you with level design.
    Are you using an editor?

Hello again, Ive said this before maybe even longer than a year ago. But, I’m interested in helping you guys in any way possible with concept art and maybe some game play ideas. Seeing what concept art you guys have, I figured you could use an extra hand with character and weapon concepts etc etc. The best way I can describe my commitment is that I’ve been drawing for nine years and yet still in high school. I think this would be a great way to practice and be involved in the creative process behind making video games interesting and looking good. Being a concept artist for games and different multimedia is my ultimate goal to achieve, and I would really appreciate it if you would let me be an active member of your team. I promise you excellence. I also promise you, you will be impressed with the quality work I will give you.
    Thank you

I’d be happy to see what you can do. Email me some samples of what you’ve done, and I’ll be happy to take a look.

I am seriously interested in making maps for this project. I just need to know what map editor your using and how to use it. I might need some practice because I’ve never got onto another map editor besides Doombuilder1.

If you can tell me these things (even if you don’t need or want me) Then i can really use these skills in life. My dream is to map for ID when i become an old fart.

Also sticking with a 2d game engine to map with isn’t getting me anywhere. Thanks!
