Just wanted to pass along that Project Vega’s very own Brett “Mechadon” Harrell has won Mapper of the Year in this year’s Cacowards over at Doomworld! He’s been part of a number of large scale projects released this year, such as Greenwar II, Claustrophobia 1024, and is certainly very deserving of the award. Congratulations to him!
In celebration, here are a few new-ish screenshots of what Mechadon has done in Project Vega so far:
It’s all a bit surreal; I don’t think it really hit me until today. I’m extremely flattered and appreciative of this recognition from the community. I realize that, in the larger scale, it’s just a small award given to someone for a 16 year old game that the larger population doesn’t even think about. But to think that a community of players and mappers thought of me as being the best mapper for the year is still too awesome for words. I love to map and this will only make me want to continue to do so for a long time to come

I am buying this game when it comes out. Get a publisher!
That’s the first time the textured, cel-shaded pistol has been seen in action!
Hopefully we can see the textured, cel-shaded shotgun in action too! And maybe other weapons? Or a downloadable demo????
